DID SOMETHING CHANGE IN CHAD AFTER THE OIL ERA? EVIDENCE FROM A ROLLING-WINDOWS ANALYSIS

The volatility of oil prices has increased visibly in the last decade. Undoubtedly, occurrence affects economics exporting and importing differently. Increases positively affect economic indicators economies, while decreases have negative effects. In this regard, increases attracted researchers’ attention, a vast literature is found investigating both countries as well advanced emerging market economies.
 Republic Chad’s economy differs from other economies because its two different eras; first was an import economy, which energy dependent. second era; started 2003 when reserves were discovered country. Due to unique situation, we examined interactions between growth performance 1963 2019 see if revenues benefitted or whether situation falls under “resource curse.” results show that, had been before discovery reserves, positive occurred after 2003. These did become again 2018, might be sign resource curse.
